Expanding the Reach of the Gospel

The Lord is my Shepherd

Dear friends,

The God and Creator of all things is faithful. Loving. He is almighty. Just. One that has given mankind a choice to make decisions of good or evil. One that gives and takes away on earth. We live in a world where I/we and mankind have chosen to sin against God. And as a result, we face the hardships of life and experience anguish in suffering.

In mid-June, my mom began to decline rapidly. She began losing most of her strength which compounded the effect of her paralysis on the left side of her body. In mid-July, Mom lost all her vision and she began struggling to the degree of swallowing water. On August 10th, 2023 at about 4:00 in the morning, with my dad, my wife, myself, and several other family members at mom’s side, God took Mom, Verda Kaye, home to be with him. Watching Mom’s unwavering faith in her Lord and Saviour over the last year and a half will forever be a testament to us of His love, His grace, and His presence in our walk with Him.

We are thankful for each of you who has supported us on this journey through encouragement, prayers, and physical help in the day-to-day. As much as we want Mom back, we are thankful for the freedom from her suffering and the hope of eternity with her in Heaven.

Our future steps…..

We have taken a step back since Mom’s passing and are focusing on our family. The past couple of years have been a busy and trying time for our young family. As much as we desire and have the burden of wanting to come to a plan of action for the next several years, we realize we are in a grieving time and a wilderness journey. We long for God to clearly show us a path that would honor and glorify Him in His timing.

After several years of talks with land developers, my parent’s house is under contract to sell in the fall of 2024. So Dad is planning to move from the house that he and Mom lived in for the past thirty years. It will be a bittersweet move for him and us children with all of our childhood memories of Mom being at this house. So we plan to stay in the home area until the end of 2024 with my dad and youngest brother Ryan and help with packing, selling, and moving things to a new home in the area.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers and feedback as we continue to seek the Lord’s leading in our lives. May God bless you all with His presence this Christmas season.

Kenneth

Completion of Wycliffe Bible Translators Equip Training!

We have now completed our online Wycliffe Bible Translators Equip training as of June 24th! Our classes consisted of two weeks of virtual training mid-June with a total of 30 participants, from the comfort of our couch.

We learned so much and had a lot of fun interacting with the other new members and staff, learning more about Wycliffe, how to thrive in a foreign country with diverse cultures, trying out new ethnic foods together and building relationships that we hope will last for a lifetime. It was also a bit stretching at times as we were pushed out of our comfort zones, but we are thankful for the growth that, that brings! As well as thankful for the wonderful and friendly crew members that made everyone feel right at home through it all!

Benjamin had the best time spending the two weeks we were in training with his grandmas and aunties and we were so thankful for the wonderful care they gave him.

July 7th, we packed up and drove from Florida to Oklahoma. Lord willing, we will be making the move up to west Iowa by July 13th, where we will be based at. We plan to be there until the second week of August. We would appreciate your prayers for nights of good rest and safety for Kenneth as he is flying and working through the long days and short nights of spray season.

After spray season we have a short week of being home then plan to be in Washington, for Kenneth’s brother’s wedding. We are hoping while we are in the northwest, to be able to do some hiking and sightseeing as well, but are waiting to see what time and work allow.

We are excited to be in the process of prayer and financial partnership and how our Heavenly Father is providing through others joining us in our Wycliffe ministry financially! We are currently at 35% of our Wycliffe budget! Sometimes it feels like we have a mountain to climb to be at 100% of our faith goal of December 2021, but we know that He will show Himself faithful and strong to meet the needs if that is His will.
